1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms govern your use of the Lode mobile app, the Lode Wear OS companion, and the web portal at app.lode.fit (together, “Lode” or “the Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Lode.
2. The Service & your licence
Lode is a workout tracker for logging training, building routines, and reviewing your progress across your phone, watch and the web. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Lode for your own, non-commercial fitness tracking. We may add, change or remove features over time.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) to use Lode.
- You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.
- Please give accurate account information and keep it up to date.
- Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
4. Acceptable use
When using Lode, you agree not to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone’s rights;
- upload content that is unlawful, harmful, harassing, or that you don’t have the right to share;
- attempt to access other users’ private data, or probe, scan or breach the Service’s security;
- disrupt or overload the Service, or reverse-engineer it except as permitted by law;
- use the Service to build a competing product, or scrape it at scale.
5. Your content
Your workouts, routines, measurements, photos and other data are yours. You grant us only the limited licence needed to operate the Service for you — to store, back up and sync your content across your devices, and, for anything you choose to post socially, to display it to the audience you select (Private, Followers or Public). You’re responsible for the content you post and share. You can export or delete your content as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Health & fitness disclaimer
Lode is a tracking tool, not a medical device or a source of medical advice. The information, stats and suggestions in Lode (including estimated one-rep max, targets, momentum, calorie estimates and heart-rate readings) are for general informational and tracking purposes only and may be inaccurate. They are not medical, health, or professional training advice.
Exercise carries inherent risks. Consult a qualified physician before starting or changing any exercise programme, especially if you have a medical condition or any concerns. Never disregard professional medical advice because of something in Lode. You use the Service, and train, at your own risk and are solely responsible for your own health and safety.
7. Third-party services
Lode works with third parties including Google (sign-in), Android Health Connect and Wear OS (health and wearable data), and our hosting provider. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies, and their availability is outside our control.
8. Availability, warranties & liability
We work hard to keep Lode reliable, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We don’t guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data sync will always be instantaneous — keep in mind Lode is offline-first and syncs when it can.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that can’t be excluded by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence). Because you control your own data and can export it, please keep your own backups of anything important.
9. Termination
You can stop using Lode and delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service. On termination, the licences above end; sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers and liability) continue to apply.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as Lode evolves. We’ll update the “last updated” date and, for material changes, give you reasonable notice. Continuing to use Lode after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
